I have been thinking alot lately about creating an environment of learning in my home.
From the games we play, to the books we read, and music we listen to.
I am trying to be more intentional about our time, and make it as educational & fun as possible.
We changed things up a little in our schoolroom.
Creating a corner for reading, a music station, and a table for creative projects.
We love spending time here!
Fabric letter project inspired here.
Geography games.. there are so many ways to be creative with this!
If you are a blog reader and have good ideas about teaching & learning techniques, I would love to hear about it!
Hello friends, we had such a lovely cozy Christmas. I hope you did too. :)
From the beginning of Dec. my kids started their countdown.
They put alot of love into cards & handmade gifts for Jason, I and each other.
All the small traditions we look forward to make the holiday feel very special!
I worked on several yarn projects include a very long pom pom garland and an oversized cross stich on burlap.
While shopping, I got lost in the yarn aisle for awhile.. all those pretty colors.. yum!
Right now I love anything with a peachy tint.
I also managed to make a playhouse table tent during one of my sister’s craft weekends. (inspired here.)
The kids love it! Especially the mailbox that drops through to the inside.
It is going to be perfect for indoor play this winter. :)
Here we are.. our classroom!
It was a big decision, but I am glad to be teaching at home this year.
I think it will be a great opportunity to make memories with structured learning & play time together.
The desk on the right is Autumn’s .. mine.. and Clay’s play area.
The last time his area will look so tidy I am sure!
Handstiched & painted details.
I organized all our school books and craft projects in drawers & crates..
ok, I think that’s everything but an American flag..must get one! :-)
only kidding.. ;) Miss A invites us to tea in her room nearly everyday. We have a lovely time munching on her plastic cake & pretend tea.
This winter she helped me paint her room a lighter cheerier color and has become much better at keeping it tidy.
I certainly enjoy having a girl to sew things for and an excuse to make a room all pink & girly!
I also love that her favorite animals are carebears, kittens, & unicorns
and that she still sleeps with the pink bunny she has been attached to since birth.
She is sugar & spice with colorful sprinkles on top.. my favorite little girl!
