Hello friends, we had such a lovely cozy Christmas. I hope you did too. :)
From the beginning of Dec. my kids started their countdown.
They put alot of love into cards & handmade gifts for Jason, I and each other.
All the small traditions we look forward to make the holiday feel very special!
I worked on several yarn projects include a very long pom pom garland and an oversized cross stich on burlap.
While shopping, I got lost in the yarn aisle for awhile.. all those pretty colors.. yum!
Right now I love anything with a peachy tint.
I also managed to make a playhouse table tent during one of my sister’s craft weekends. (inspired here.)
The kids love it! Especially the mailbox that drops through to the inside.
It is going to be perfect for indoor play this winter. :)
I finally finished a small polaroid scrapbook that I have been planning to do for awhile.
It’s all about Autumn.. special memories.. her favorite toys, dresses, color, activities..
alot of journaling about the many ways she made us laugh & smile at the age of 2-4.
It’s about to be wrapped and placed under the tree for Christmas. I hope she will someday treasure it as much as I do!
There are over 20 polaroids included.. here are a few favorites. :)
This week’s project is a Christmas wreath made from fabric leaves and felted pompoms.
My sister’s and I had a fab weekend to ourselves… sewing, knitting, felting, watching good movies, and eating too much food.. :D
I’m still smiling and I have many new projects to share!
Also, a huge THANK YOU to all who participated in last week’s giveaway!
I enjoyed reading each and every one of your comments! Many of them brought tears to my eyes.
You are so thoughtful and such a blessing to me! The drawing was a reminder of why I share here. :)
We drew a name this morning… and the winner is ROSIE! A fellow photographer- who’s work and friendship I truly enjoy.
Rosie’s memory “..my fav christmas gift ever was probably my first one that I can remember. A little stuffed animal. i was 8. Coming from a family of 12, we rarely did gifts :). “
This week my project is a handmade envelope with a set of 4 cards from my etsy shop Skippy Designs.
It is a small token of my appreciation for you. Thank you for your friendship on this blog.
I’m not sure what draws you here.. not my wit or wisdom… hehe ;-)
but if you love life, photography, art and appreciate vintage style I know we have something in common!
How do you enter the giveaway? Comment below..
what is the most favorite gift you have ever given or received at Christmas?
It’s that easy. I will draw a name next week! xx Mandy
Winter is the time for comfort.. it is time for home. Dame Edith Sitwell
We had a relaxing weekend eating sugar cookies and playing games.
I am working on a wreath for my mantle and a wool project. First time felting.. I’m a little nervous. :)
Seafoam green & olive from Garnett Hill and JCrew. . I’m DAZZLED.
What projects or winter colors inspire you right now? I would love to hear about it!
I used some extra fabric leftover from my pillow project for a handmade jumper for my daughter.
It looks perfect for summer play, but I think I will layer it and add leggings underneath for winter.
Brr… it’s finally getting cold here. Time to hibernate inside and think of some winter crafts… maybe a giveway too! :)
I don’t know who is happier about this corner.. the boy or the mom! :) My son has been hinting, suggesting, begging me for a desk for his homework, art, and writing.
Especially with Christmas coming.. it was the only thing on his list. I recently found a flea market bargain and we both sanded, painted and waxed over the weekend.
It’s one more corner of my house complete. YAY.
The canvas’s above the desk were a project that I painted last winter. Most images are available in my etsy shop.
