Winter is the time for comfort.. it is time for home. Dame Edith Sitwell

We had a  relaxing weekend eating sugar cookies and playing games.

I am working on a wreath for my mantle and a wool project. First time felting.. I’m a little nervous. :)

I plan on eating way too much turkey myself and finishing it off with a huge slice of apple pie.   :D

This has been a good year.. beautiful & rewarding in many ways. My heart is so Thankful.

“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 107:1

I used some extra fabric leftover from my pillow project for a handmade jumper for my daughter.

It looks perfect for summer play, but  I think I will layer it and add leggings underneath for winter.

Brr… it’s finally getting cold here. Time to hibernate inside and think of some winter crafts… maybe a giveway too!  :)

{vintage shops}

Springfield, MO has it’s share of flea markets & vintage stores, but these are my Favorites!red velvet art .

I’m quite lucky to live in the same town as Red Velvet Art & the special Elsie Flannigan.

She has the most adorable 60s’s style. Her cute shop brings so much excitement to downtown.  I simply want everything in it!

funtiques.

Funtiques is a store that makes me happy from head to toe!  Everything in it looks like it came off a set from a 70′s tv show. So funky & cute.

vintage vice

Vintage Vice is stylish & cool, but only if you can look past that fugly Christmas sweater in the store window!  haha

That is why I like to peek into vintage vice. Original ideas that seem to have a male influence.

Leolas.

Leola’s has been my favorite antique store for a long time. I pick up so many vintage props for my house & photo sessions here.

The ladies are so friendly and the displays.. Heavenly.  Each season brings new inspiring ideas.

a place for thinking

I don’t know who is happier about this corner.. the boy or the mom! :) My son has been hinting, suggesting, begging me for a desk for his homework, art, and writing.

Especially with Christmas coming.. it was the only thing on his list.  I recently found a flea market bargain and we both sanded, painted and waxed over the weekend.

It’s one more corner of my house complete. YAY.

The canvas’s above the desk were a project that I painted last winter. Most images are available in my etsy shop.
